Oh That Dress!
I can safely say that I am probably not the only one who loves Marchesa dresses. They always add a touch of magic and a dose of dreaminess into everyday life. If I was a Disney fairy tale princess, I would wear Marchesa dresses all the time. So you might understand that I always love a Marchesa moment. This time it was Nicole Richie who wore one of their dresses to the style of the opening gala and "Unmasking" for the Resnick Pavilion at the LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art). Love!

Back From the Concrete Jungle
Where to begin?! New York was amazing, it was magical, and everything that I had dreamt of. It's strange when you're so in love with a place which you've never been to, and you create all these great visions of how the place is. The possibility of being quite let down is therefore not all that slim. But hey, it's New York - the place where big dreams can come true, and how can that let you down? But I won't ramble on. New York is that kind of place that you need to experience for yourself. Instead I'll give you my 5 best moments while I was there:
5. Looking at all the stylish New Yorkers and filling up on style inspiration. Everywhere you look there are cool people, especially in Soho and Tribeca.
4. Eating breakfast at Café Gitane, and suddenly noticing half way through my fruit salad that Moby was sitting on the other side of the window (I almost choked because of the shock - as I love Moby's music!)
3. Looking through racks and racks of clothes at Beacon's Closet in Brooklyn, and finding a gorgeous dark grey, suede blazer by Calvin Klein which fit perfectly - for only $30!!
2. Walking the Brooklyn Bridge at dusk and arriving on the other side in the dark - the view of Manhattan was spectacular! The lights were so beautiful and romantic.
1. Going to Barney's and purchasing my very first designer bag - the black Mini Coco Duffle bag by Alexander Wang. I have loved it for such a long time, and finally it is mine. Oh, the joy!!
Because of my little voyage to NYC, the reports from New York Fashion Week, London Fashion Week and Milan Fashion Week have suffered. But my favourite fashion week, Paris, still remains so check back for updates from tomorrow and onwards. And here's a little celebration or an early kick-off to Paris Fashion Week. Bisous!

The French Wearing French
I am a big fan of contrasts, and that is why I think Clemence Poesy looks great in this outfit. The t-shirt, jeans and boots makes this initially a grunge otufit, but the oh-so fabulous Balmain jacket from the fall '11 season brings the outfit to a whole different level. You wouldn't think that uch an exquisite, beautiful piece of work could work with such everyday clothes, but in fact that is what makes this so brilliant.
How would you wear this sequined Balmain piece if you owned it?

Olivia x 3
During New York Fashion Week, Olivia Palermo is probably the celebrity which I have seen the most photos of. She has been everywhere from Peter Som to Tommy Hilfiger to Carlos Miele. No surprise really, as it seems like she knows everyone and everything that lives and breathes in the fashion world. Or so she claims in The City. Still, with her busy schedule I must say that I am very impressed with how she always looks like a million dollars. Some people just have pure style running through their veins.

The 10 Best Dressed of The Week
The 10 Best Dressed of The Week is a new feature here on Style Spot which will be posted every Sunday. Throughout the week, I'll be scouting for the very best outfits, and create a summary of them here. I hope you'll enjoy it!
This week, the stars have glittered in the occasion of New York Fashion Week. The Chanel Soho boutique opening attracted many beautifully dressed celebrities, with four of them ending up on this list. One gossip girl has received high fashion scores, giving her two great spots of the 10 best dressed list. Excited to see who?
10. Charlize Theron at Dior's Celebration of Fashion's Night Out
On Friday, Charlize Theron attended Dior's celebration of Fashion's Night Out looking very chic indeed. I love the use of grey and black teamed together which oozes simplicity and elegance. The cut of the black jacket is absolutely gorgeous. And I really like the element of surprise which is added by using those nude boots.
9. Alexa Chung at Alexa Chung For Madewell Launch Party
A few of you might not understand why I have put this outfit on the list, but I must admit that I have a slight weak spot for Alexa's chic granny outfits. This cream skirt is so lovely and delicate and I really like how it is worn with the long, brown cardigan and the black, patent boots.
8. Diane Krüger at the New Chanel Boutique Opening in Soho
Once again, Diane Krüger proves why she is such a style icon. It looks like this ruffle dress was made for her, and the boots seems like they were made for the dress. I love how one of the shoulders holds up the dress, while the other hangs below her shoulders. It adds such a flirty, sexy feel to the outfit.
7. Chanel Iman at the New Chanel Boutique Opening in Soho
This is one of those beautiful dresses that you dream of finding when you visit a vintage store. The shape and sequins is what makes this dress. And I adore that she wears her red Chanel bag with it because a dress like this needs a bold accessory to bring it out even more.
6. Olivia Palermo Backstage at the Ports 1961 Spring 2011 Fashion Show
Even though I am not such a huge fan of Olivia Palermo on The City, I am not going to hold that against her when it comes to the way she dresses. She does have a great talent when it comes to combining different patterns, colours and fabrics. And she always has the best accessories, especially large and stunning rings.
5. Lily Donaldson at the New Chanel Boutique Opening in Soho
This is one of those outfits that I want to copy every detail of and wear right now. I am a huge fan of contrasts in an outfit, so therefore I really like the elegant shape of Lily Donaldson's blazer teamed together with a sheer white t-shirt and torn denim shorts. And she looks so cute with her hair like that.
4. Rachel Bilson at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Spring 2011
3. Blake Lively at the New Chanel Boutique Opening in Soho
2. Sarah Jessica Parker at Fashion's Night Out

4. Rachel Bilson at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Spring 2011
Lately, I have been obsessed with leather shorts, so Rachel Bilson's outfit definitely hit home. Also, her blouse is gorgeous and it reminds me of an Acne blouse that I am lusting for at the moment. To be honest though, I think it is her pink lipstick that makes me really love this outfit; it adds such a beautiful freshness!
3. Blake Lively at the New Chanel Boutique Opening in Soho
There is a lot of talk about Blake Lively's style; some love it and others hate it. I am one of those who most of the times love it. I often prefer her style to Leighton's, and she has hands down the best wardrobe in Gossip Girl. At the opening of the new Chanel store in Soho, Blake was glowing. Stepping out of her comfort zone (showing boobs and legs) really suits her. And the top half of this Chanel dress is perfection.
2. Sarah Jessica Parker at Fashion's Night Out
Those of you who have been reading Style Spot for a while know how obsessed I am with sequins, so there is no surprise why Sarah Jessica Parker is listed as a number 2. I am officially in love with her jacket! It looks so good with that lavender/baby blue dress. And her heels are crazy cool. I want!

1. Blake Lively at Fashion's Night Out
When I first saw Blake in this gorgeous, graphic Marchesa dress, I gasped out loud. The reason why is because I love it when celebrities have a yellow moment (if they wear it right that is!) The strapless top half and the floaty bottom, makes a flirty and girly dress which I am always a fan of. In the beginning, I couldn't get used to the Louboutins she is wearing, as I thought the red steals some of the attention of the dress, but now I love it as I feel it compliments it perfectly.

How To Get Ready For Fashion Week
I have great admiration for the men and women in fashion who manage to pack for each city and each show and event during Fashion Weeks in NYC, London, Milan and Paris. I am having such problems with packing for a six day trip to New York, so I can't imagine packing for a whole month of fashion galore. Therefore, I am so happy when I find videos like this one with Taylor Tomasi and the one where Anna Dello Russo teaches us how to pack (I love it when Anna seems slightly shocked when the reporter thinks that she has packed for both New York AND London at once. No no, only New York, London later!)

Milla as a Femme Fatale

This editorial of Milla Jovovich made me think of a modern day Bonnie from the movie "Bonnie & Clyde". A femme fatale on the run, but doing it in style. It is the beret and and the bob that make my thoughts instantly fly to the iconic character played by Faye Dunaway. And talking about the dark, edgy bob, don't you just want to it?! I know I sure do. Maybe that should be my change for fall.
Do you have any style changes planned for fall?

Sienna in Twenty8Twelve

Last wednesday, Sienna wore this apple green Twenty8Twelve dress to the announcement
of the 2011 Nominees for the British Fashion Awards. As many of you know, I absolutely adore
Sienna's style, and I've found that she rarely makes style mistakes though sometimes she can
be more clever on taking style risks (she used to be brilliant at that!). I especially love it when
she wears something in a bright colour, such as this dress. It matches her lovely, vivacious
personality excellently. And don't you just love the back of it?!
Also, I'll use this as an opportunity to tell you that I will be deleting "Everything Sienna", and
post about Sienna here on Style Spot instead. It's just easier to have it all together in one
place.

Happy Birthday Style Spot!

I must admit to something which I am not very proud of; it is Style Spot's 4th birthday today and I almost forgot! As silly as it sounds, it kind of feels like I'm a mother and I've forgotten my child's birthday. Shocking, I know. Still, I remembered just in time so hopefully I'm not all bad.
Since it's birthday time and all, and I need to make up for birthday time lost, I thought it would be nice with some fresh changes to the blog. I have started on a few layout changes, and also I am thinking of adding a few regular features here on Style Spot. The first one will be introduced to you as soon as Sunday so mark that in your calenders. I think you'll like it!
So please, let Style Spot's 4th birthday give you an excuse to eat a huge piece of chocolate cake, drink a sparkly glass of champagne or do crazy dances around your house. I just might do all three!
And thank you to each and everyone of you, my dear readers. Style Spot would never be Style Spot without all of you!
xoxoxo

Heading to the concrete jungle

Sorry for the absence, but I am planning something very exciting: a trip to New York! I am leaving next week, and my joy and excitement is almost too much to handle. This will be my very first trip so I am wondering if any of you have any brilliant tips to give me? Is there something I have to see or do while I am there? Best shops, best restaurants, etc.? Tell me all your New York secrets!
